The supposition is that cf hoods would be lighter than a stock hood. On some cars it may be true. Even on steel-hooded cars, even if you saved 20-30 lbs somehow...only the most hardcore racers would need that; and not many hardcore racers would use a Z32 for their track car. And beyond that, the Z's hood is aluminum anyway (so I understand) and you don't save any real amount of weight that you couldn't shave by going on a diet. And for that reason, the only people who really find CF hoods to be 'cool' are people who are uneducated about cars, and think the hood indicates a high-perf car. Everyone else sees them as being pretty tarded. Since most people at TT.net are well-educated about cars, very few like CF hoods. Much less than 50-50, I assure you. -Rob
